Pandharpur
Located in the ancient temple town of Pandharpur, often referred to as the Dakshin Kashi, the temple is dedicated to the god Vithoba, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and his consort, Goddess Rakhumai. During the Waari festival, palanquins (Palkhis) of various saints arrive from different places and converge at Wakhri, near Pandharpur. About 8 to 10 lakhs pilgrims called warkaris walk to the temple every year for Aashadi Ekadashi festival.
